Upholstery Cleaning Processes
Upholstery Cleaning Processes: Vacuuming
Just like carpet cleaning the process starts with the fabric being thoroughly vacuumed. Once again removing any loose particles of soil resulting in a better clean also, this process allows me inspect the furniture more closely highlighting anything I might have missed in the survey.
Upholstery Cleaning Processes: Shampooing
Having carried out the survey the correct cleaning solution would have been selected to pre-clean the fabric that can be wet cleaned (Dry cleaning requires a completely different method.) I use the shampoo method this involves measuring the correct amount of shampoo/water to a bucket along with a sponge then worked into lather the sponge is then squeezed only leaving the lather on the sponge. This is then worked into the fabric on stubborn areas a special upholstery brush is used to aid the cleaning process.
Upholstery Cleaning Processes: Fabric Rinsing
Once a section of the fabric has been cleaned the rinsing agent can be applied. The process is similar to carpet rinsing except the rinsing agent is different, and a stainless steel hand tool is used to apply the rinse agent and then extract it.
Upholstery Cleaning Processes: Turbo Drying
Like carpet cleaning the environment plays a big part in the drying process. In summer I can put my dust sheets outside and place items that have been cleaned on them aiding the drying process. In winter the turbo dryers are used cleaning and drying one item at a time.
